| Have
you ever thought to yourself that perhaps
your career choice doesn’t match what you
enjoy?
Did you “end up” choosing a
field because of outside pressure from a parent
or spouse perhaps?
Are you just beginning the process
of deciding what your career path will look
like?

Are you just beginning the process of deciding what
your career path will look like?
Would you like to be able
to get a better read on how your interests would
match up with occupational choices? Then the "Strong
Interest Inventory®"
is an assessment you should know more about.
What is the "Strong Interest
Inventory®"
and how does it work?
 |
The
Strong measures an individual’s interest in
a wide range of occupations, work activities,
leisure activities, and school subjects, and
compares how these interests are similar to
the interests of people who report being happy
and successful in their jobs.
The Strong is used to help people understand
their work interests and to illustrate the
kinds of work they might find comfortable.
|
If you are wondering if the "Strong Interest
Inventory®"
would be helpful for you, consider the following
questions:
• Are you a high school or college student interested
in exploring career options?
• Are you re-entering the work force?
• Are you looking for more job satisfaction?
• Are you a high school student trying to choose
the appropriate education or training?
• Are you a college student trying to identify a
major?
• Are you trying to find a balance between work
and leisure?
• Are you considering making a change but aren’t
sure if you want to change careers or
start your own business?

get from taking the "Strong Interest Inventory®"?
•
A comprehensive summary of how your unique
interests (not your abilities) apply in five
areas:
1. Work-related activities
2. Activities outside work
3. Types of work environments that best “fit”
for you.
4. Type of people you are most likely to work
well with.
5. Types of work tasks you are most likely
to enjoy. |
 |
• Information to help you choose a
major or explore new career fields.
• The Strong Interest Inventory®
will point out some patterns of interests that you
have and recommend some career areas to explore,
it will NOT tell you one specific career field to
pursue.
The
"Strong Interest Inventory®"
is based on the philosophy that individuals with
be more satisfied and productive when they work
in jobs that they find interesting, and when they
work with people that share interests similar to
their own. Whether you are a high school student,
a college student, or in the middle of your career
seeking change, the Strong will provide information
that will help in your search for a meaningful and
fulfilling career.
It is important to know that the results
are most useful and productive when carefully analyzed,
interpreted, and discussed with a qualified Strong
administrator. For more information on how it may
